17-19.04.2013 - London

The hand was sent to London for the following issues:

  • FFJ3 tendon break
  • strange noises
  • deadband of 5 degrees

The Shadow Robot Company did the following:

  • FFJ3 tendon replacement
  • Smoothing in RFJ3 tensioner
  • Admit that there is a design bug that causes the hand to make strange noises in the following scenario: control multiple joints by using very small steps
  • Reduced the deadband to 1-2 degrees, depending on joint
  • Reinstalled computer to Ubuntu 12.04, ROS Fuerte and latest software for Shadow Hand
