Circuit Description

This example shows two different ways to draw the schematics for the basic SR flipflop - both depict exactly the same circuit.

In hand-drawn schematics, it is common to use the 'crossed feedback' lines, because this allows to spot a flipflop at first glance. Schematics generated by automatic tools, however, might rather use a layout similar to the second variant. Note that this makes it clearer that a simple feedback path is the essential part responsible for the flipflop behavior.
