Natural and Intuitive Interaction with 6DOF Markers

Motivation

Defining waypoints for 3D trajectories is a cumbersome task. Common 3D interfaces, which are utilized to define positions and orientations, use mouse and keyboard to fulfil the task. To complete the task it is not possible to avoid many repetitions of changing the pose of the camera. Unfortunately for many applications in robotics, espacically when working with manipulators or with objects in 3D in general, this is needed. Using a spatial user interface could faciliate this task. With the help of current virtual reality and augmented reality techniques it is possible to implement methods, which make defining pose markers more easy and intuitive for humans.
