Shadow is a privately-held UK limited company and SME, and a leading developer of robotics technology, focussing on the key concept of manipulation hardware. Shadow systems are in use at leading research organisations worldwide to push forwards the boundaries of what can be done with robot systems. Shadow is currently working on new designs of dexterous manipulators, and seeking to apply them outside the research context. In this process, Shadow is reaching out to researchers to try and bring the best new software and algorithms to bear on the problems of control of dexterous manipulators in difficult, dirty and dangerous areas.
Shadow will provide the C6M dextreous Hand system, integrate this with the arm, cyberglove, and UHAM control software. Shadow will provide maintenance and support for the experimental work. Shadow will establish routes for post-project exploitation, including possible go-to-market strategies.
